Serpae Tetra

The serpae tetra (Hyphessobrycon eques) is orange in color with a black diamond-shaped coloration at its flanks. They are reputed for being fin-nippers, but there are evidences that prove otherwise. Do keep this in mind if your existing aquarium contains many long-finned fishes. Otherwise, they make a great addition to community aquariums.

The serpae tetra grows up to approximately 4 cm (1.5 in), prefers 5.5 – 7.5 pH and 24 to 28 °C (75 to 82 °F) waters.
