The kuhli loach is a small worm-like freshwater fish, which is also commonly called the coolie loach, giant coolie loach, striped loach, and leopard loach. They have an orange body, about 4 in (10 cm) long, with 6 to 10 often irregular dark bands along the length and some barbels about their mouth.

Nocturnal by nature and swims near the bottom, the kuhli loaches are interesting additions to most aquariums. They prefer water with a 5.5 - 6.5 pH, a water hardness of 5.0 dGH, and a temperature range of 75 - 86 °F (24 - 30 °C).

Some hobbyists have claimed that their kuhli loaches eat snails. So they worth considering to keep as snail eaters.
