The bubble eye goldfish is characterized by its unique fluid-filled sacs under its eyes. And like a ranchu, it does not have a dorsal fin, and has a double tail.
Because of its delicate eye sacs, the bubble eye goldfish is not recommended for beginners or aquariums with decors that may damage its eye sacs. Special care needs to be taken to prevent any chance of puncturing the sacs.
The bubble eye goldfish can grow up to 6 to 8 inches long. They should be kept in a minimum of 10 gallons (38 liters) of water per fish, with a water temperature between 76 and 78 °F.
